What is the cottage like?
Spinks Nest is a small flint cottage in Hunworth, near Holt in North Norfolk, restored over two years with curated, reclaimed and vintage materials. Exposed ancient flint walls, lime render, reclaimed oak beams, bricks and Norfolk pamments sit alongside Mulberry Home fabrics, Designers Guild bedlinen and towels, and a Woolroom wool mattress and bedding. Guests often describe it as rustic luxe.
Is Spinks Nest good for a romantic break?
Yes, it’s made for two. There’s a woodburner in a brick inglenook, a bedroom tucked under the eaves with Designers Guild bedlinen and a Woolroom wool bed, and a garden terrace for long breakfasts. Holt’s shops and restaurants are five minutes away, and the seals at Blakeney and the North Norfolk coast about fifteen.
Is Spinks Nest a luxury cottage?
It’s rustic luxe: ancient flint walls, reclaimed oak beams and Norfolk pamments, softened with Mulberry Home fabrics, Designers Guild bedlinen and towels, and a Woolroom wool mattress and bedding. The interiors were pieced together from the antique shops around Holt, and the cottage has been featured in The Observer, The Times, The Telegraph, Condé Nast Traveller, Elle and Country Living.

Is there a bath?
No, there isn’t a bath, but there is a step-down walk-in shower. We’ve upgraded the cottage to an eco-friendly air source heat pump, which can’t fill a bath, so we no longer offer one.

Yes, dogs are very welcome at Spinks Nest: we take up to three small to medium dogs, at £50 per dog per stay. We ask that dogs are never left alone in the cottage, are kept on a lead when outside the cottage on the property, and that any mess is bagged (bags are provided free) and put in the grey outside bin.
Is the garden enclosed?
The garden is enclosed, but it isn’t completely dog-proof, so please keep an eye on your dog when they’re outside.
Are there good dog walks nearby?
There are beautiful walks for all abilities around Hunworth, with local maps and walking books in the cottage. The North Norfolk coast is about fifteen minutes away; at Holkham, dogs need to be on a lead during the bird nesting season. See our local guide for ideas.
